One or Both 02:53
Eyes fixed on the clock Wondering when I can take off Sitting with this girl Eleven months, we still can't talk Or keep up with the pace Put a mask on every day Free time is erased I can't say this to her face And one or both lie But neither admit Just hold their stance long enough To kill their regret And one or both lie About how they feel Just trying to see How far they can get Sorry all my friends For I have left you in the dark She just likes to pretend That she's the only one I see Dug myself into this hole Made a promise I can't keep If I'm stuck, it's 'cause of me And one or both lie But neither admit Just hold their stance long enough To kill their regret And one or both lie About how they feel Just trying to see How far they can get [dope synth break] (You don't have to Stay if you don't Want to, you can Leave whenever)

Commuter 02:46
At least my parent's place Is bigger than your dorm My cost of living isn't Quite as high as yours But all my friends are happier Than I've ever seen With these people I don't know Just had to pick the place Convenient for me And now I'm finally alone And though I love my girl She lives so far away Oh it's torture waiting Ages for for each stay And all my friends are happier Than I've ever seen With these people I don't know Just had to pick the place Convenient for me And now I'm finally alone

You Did It 03:32
Congratulations man, you broke her little heart Her favorite person was a chump right from the start You tried your best, you gave her all that you'd think she'd want But after all, you only ended up departing You wanted to get past everything that caused you trouble You couldn't dismiss all of the problems you two had But now you got to bail out, on the double A single look back and you'll only break down again Just take the hits, just deal with it You may be broken but you're making her smile Don't leave her side, give up your pride You can't just settle forever You can't go back on it now, It's too late, you told yourself that this was all for the best You try to reason that you're hurting more than her Go sit in your car for half an hour Go out for a walk to try to settle your brain You ain't no victim, you're the one who wanted the change Just take the hits, just deal with it You may be broken but you're making her smile Don't leave her side, give up your pride You can't just settle forever Just take the hits, just deal with it You may be broken but you're making her smile Don't leave her side, give up your pride You can't just settle forever? You know you two never seemed to work it out She was the only one that ever made you wanna shout You won't hurt her no more (who are you kidding, man?) She won't hurt you no more (why do you beat up on yourself?) Just take the hits, just deal with it You may be broken but you're making her happy "Don't leave her side, give up your pride" I can't just settle forever Drive off a cliff, jump off a bridge There's no way out, just end it now Don't leave her side, she's gonna cry You care way too much

The very last thing I need right now Is your lousy cosolation Pity's never really been my thing You have no reason to feel bad It was my imagination That took me to the peak Of this heap of dismay Don't worry though, I'll try again When I find a little confidence At the bottom of a cup of vodka Pleading on the phone You're a mess, Nick She's gone for thirty seconds And you're flying off the handle You're the worst, Nick How can you expect them all to stay If you won't entertain Your cowardice is showing on your sleeve You tell her it's okay Through your teeth One day she will ignore All you say You sell yourself short And it's lowering the value, buddy Don't worry though, I'll try again When I find a little confidence At the bottom of a cup of vodka Pleading on the phone

Boring 02:12
He treats me nice, but he's so boring Sometimes I wonder how he thinks we're going I wish he'd just act like A normal guy, but there's Something off about him He pisses me off all of the time Sometimes I'm catching myself grieving Because I know I won't be leaving I can't get him to feel empathy He sits there like a statue It's hard to picture what he thinks of me Where did you learn how to give so easy? You can't spend forever softly dreaming It's obvious he has no place in your fantasy But how could you leave him? I saw his sweatshirt on your carpet Our relationship's a carcass Think of all you could've said to me You act just like the victim You got what you want, you're free Where did you learn how to give so easy? You can't spend forever softly dreaming Every chance you get, You loan yourself absently

about

On this EP, I really tried to capture and articulate the situations I was living in at the time of writing: getting stuck in relationships I shouldn't have been in, losing friends to college, and making rash choices after drinking alone. But don't worry I made it sound really fun!!
